Four Generations

Dad, Mom, Kendall, Erin, Sam, Tom, Desi and I went to Cafe Rio and then to see Grandma Thomson last night. She was so excited to see the kiddies. Sam, however, was more excited about the fish tank. It was nice to visit with Grandma and get a four generation picture. It's harder than you would think to get all four people to look at the camera at the same time and smile. Thanks to Erin for being our photographer.

Final Tally

I am finally done with the Albertson's shopping! I think I'm sick of grocery shopping even though I couldn't stop buying things because it was such a great deal! $90 and 15 transactions later, I now have

18 cereal
3 chex mix
1 chex mix bars
3 cheerios snack mix
15 fruit snacks
3 macaroni grill dinners
5 warm delights
7 brownie mix
21 cake mix
9 muffin mix
5 cookie mix
11 frosting
6 lemon bars
5 crescent rolls
8 biscuits
12 cookie dough
2 cinnamon rolls
16 soups

And I don't have any more space in my laundry/storage room! I guess my scrapbooking supplies are going to have to share a closet with the cake mix and cereal. I am glad to get this great jumpstart on food storage though, because we really don't have much.
P.S. Wendy, would you like me to bring cake or cookies to Ben's court of honor? =)

6th file, 6th pic

This is the 6th picture in the 6th file on my computer. I took this picture on the side of the road coming back from the dunes, while Tom was changing the flat tire on the trailer. This was one of the several flats we had on the trailer within a month or so of each other. I tag Lori, Kim, Jessica and Christy.

Pedicures Aren't For The Ticklish

Erin, my sister-in-law, and I went and got pedicures today at the salon in WalMart. It felt amazing! This is definitely something we are going to do more often! They did a great job and we got to sit in massage chairs. But I don't know why I felt so ticklish, I almost kicked the poor girl in the face. I wouldn't normally pick purple , but I am really liking it lately and the girl offered to put the sparkly on top. The only downfall of the day was that I forgot my cell phone was in my lap and it fell into the tub of water. Oops! Now all it does is flash and vibrate. I guess I will have to dry it out some more. So much for a $20 pedicure, it might now be a $70 one if I have to buy a new phone. P.S. Thanks to my mother-in-law for watching our kiddies. It was nice to be pampered.

GREAT DEALS!!!

I went to Albertson's today and got all of these groceries for $45.95!!! You can't even see all of it, because my table isn't big enough so I had to stack things on top of each other AND use the chair! If I had purchased these groceries regularly, it would have cost me $270.51. I saved $224.56!!! YAHOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was a good thing I dragged Tom with me because I filled the entire cart and Desi wouldn't have had anywhere to sit. He was teasing me in the checkout line about going home and blogging about it. Of course I have to tell people, I am so proud of myself! Thank you Grocery Smarts!

Three Months Already!

I can't believe my baby is already three months old. She has brought more joy into our lives than we could have imagined. I never knew I could love someone so little so much!!! I don't feel worthy enough to be this angel's mother.

14 Things I Love...

I decided because Valentine's Day is on February 14th that I would list 14 things I love about Tom. So here goes...
1. his sense of humor
2. his smile
3. his patience
4. that he loves helping people
5. his love for me
6. his love for Desi
7. his hugs and kisses
8. how handsome and sexy he is
9. his dreams and ideas
10. his testimony
11. his faith
12. he honors his priesthood
13. that he likes to work with his hands
14. his strong arms
I love him so much and I'm glad that we can be together forever!

Woo-Hoo!

For some reason I don't have any pictures of my brother in his uniform, so this eight month old picture of the day he was sworn in will have to do. Anyway, I found out that he will be stationed in California instead of out of the country when he is done with training! I'm so glad that he will be close and of course give us a good excuse to take a vacation on the beach! I want Desi to know her uncles (my brothers) even if they can't be around all the time. Which makes me think of how grateful I am to have most of my family living so close. What a blessing it is to be able to have a close relationship with my family.
P.S. Why didn't anyone bother to tell me how terrible I looked while being pregnant?!

Ready to Ride...Maybe Not

Tom decided it was time for Desi to try on his helmet and goggles. She wasn't very happy.

Tubby Time

Desi seems to love getting in the tub with her Dad. She will sometimes accidentally splash herself, but she likes to kick and float around. And for as many poopy accidents as we have had, she has never pooped in the tub. She definitely inherited enjoying baths from her Dad. Afterwards, I decided to try on the pajamas that her Auntie Laura had given her even though they are 3-6 months and they aren't that big on her! She has been outgrowing her 0-3 month sleepers because she is getting so long! I can't believe that next week she will be three months!

Grocery Smarts

I forgot to post this last week when I went shopping. I saved over $70! I was so excited! I even got the pizza rolls for free because Albertson's was matching coupons.

Food for Thought

"What can . . . young mother[s] [do] . . . to reduce the pressure [of raising young children] and enjoy [their families] more? . . . "Recognize that the joy of motherhood comes in moments. There will be hard times and frustrating times. But amid the challenges, there are shining moments of joy and satisfaction. "Author Anna Quindlen reminds us not to rush past the fleeting moments. She said: 'The biggest mistake I made [as a parent] is the one that most of us make. . . . I did not live in the moment enough. This is particularly clear now that the moment is gone, captured only in photographs. There is one picture of [my three children] sitting in the grass on a quilt in the shadow of the swing set on a summer day, ages six, four, and one. And I wish I could remember what we ate, and what we talked about, and how they sounded, and how they looked when they slept that night. I wish I had not been in such a hurry to get on to the next thing: dinner, bath, book, bed. I wish I had treasured the doing a little more and the getting it done a little less' (Loud and Clear [1004], 10-11)." M. Russell Ballard, "Daughters of God," Ensign, May 2008, 109

So Tasty!

You need to try this tasty (and healthy I might add) snack. I think it is soooooooooooo good! I decided to get some when it was on sale at Albertson's last week and try it because there was also a coupon for it. I loved it but when I went to get some more today I realized how expensive it was not on sale and without a coupon. Then walking down the aisle at Sam's Club today I found a big bag for cheap. Score! So try it and let me know what you think of it.

Food For Thought

"Just when all seems to be going right, challenges often come in multiple doses applied simultaneously. When those trials are not consequences of your disobedience, they are evidence that the Lord feels you are prepared to grow more." Elder Richard G. Scott
I saw this quote on a website and looked it up. For any of you who have time to read the talk, it's really good.

Clarification

I'm sorry, I should have clarified on the previous post that I hoped the kids turned out way cuter than the pictures. I just thought it was funny because it reminded me of How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days.
